Founding member of the Celtic, Americana, World Beat ensemble, The Gaslight Tinkers, Peter Siegel contributes a radical chord to American Roots music. Influenced by the songwriting of Pete Seeger and Phil Ochs, American old time music, blues, Afrobeat and Caribbean, his music defies definition.

He’s frequented venues like Newport Folk, Clearwater’s great Hudson River Revival, Falcon Ridge Folk Fest, the Kennedy Center, and has shared the stage with folk legends Seeger, Judy Collins, Dar Williams, David Amram, and Utah Phillips.

Peter’s songs and tunes have been published in Sing Out! magazine and the fiddle tune compilation, The Portland Collection.  He has Grammy award winning mandolin tracks on the Best Children’s Album of 2010….When Peter is not playing or recording, he is teaching in the small towns of New England or somewhere else in the world. You can find him leading stringed and vocal workshops or singing  and songwriting with kids.
